You want to know WHAT?!?

More adoption updates...

Our next step that we are taking has to do with what is known as a home study . They consist of at least two interviews and a visit to our home. It is to make sure that we aren't too crazy to have kids and to make sure that we get a good fit. IT IS THE LAST MAJOR STEP BEFORE THE REFERRAL. I think that we will be starting the actuall interviewing right after the holidays.

The hardest part, so far, is that they what a 6 page autobiography about each of us. Questions range from:
"Height/Weight/BMI"
to
"Please describe the nature of your marriage."
to
"Please describe your mother's personality."
to
"How many bathrooms do you have in your home."

Some of these questions are a little invasive, I suppose. But mostly they just take a lot of thinking and trying to figure out how to put it on paper.

Once all of this Homestuding is complete it all gets shipped off to Ethiopia and then it gets translated. It is really the only way that the officials in that country know us and try to match us up. So it is a very big deal.

We also have to have an FBI background check. It turns out that neither Roger, nor I have any outstanding warrants for our arrest. Whew!

I know it is stressful but I keep thinking of those beautiful little children and I know you guys are going to be the most amazing parents. I am so excited for you. I love reading your updates too. It makes me feel like I'm getting to know them already.
