Have you ever been Ice Blocking?

If you haven't, you are missing out BIG TIME!

All you need are:
1. a large block of ice (can be purchased from groceries stores,
except in Mississippi I discovered)
2. a hill
3. a towel (so your booty doesn't freeze)
4. some fun people

In case you haven't guessed, I went Ice Blocking this evening with a youth group. It was super fun...I must admit in all humility that I think I was the best one. You haul your ice block to the top of a hill, put your towel on the block, sit on the towel and sled down. FUN--yet dangerous. Not too dangerous.

Variations include:

1. the train

2. the face first

3. the surfer

4. the splat-er (that happens when you fall off of your ice block)

LOL! I am convinced that YOU made this up. When you took my brothers and me ice-blocking (about 15-18 years ago??? oh, geez, we're old), we had so much fun. I told everyone back home about it, and you know what? No one had ever heard of it. No one. Which leads me to believe this: YOU made this up.

In any case, our one and only ice-blocking adventure stands out as one of my favorite cousin-Roger moments. That, and going swimming in an ice-cold river while you and Mike took turns jumping off a train bridge. And the never-ending knock-knock jokes. Okay, there are lots others, too, but ice-blocking is definitely in the top ten.
