We drove four hours to Bellingham. Are we glad we went? Yes.
Were we disappointed? Also, yes.
There were several highlights of our trip. One was that we got to meet with a lot of families who are at different places in the process of adopting from Ethiopia.
We got to see so many sweet little kids. --On a side note, I thought that maybe the agency was only taking pictures of the cute kids, because all of the kids were so cute. It turns out that there is just an abnormally high rate of cute kids in that country. --
We got to see some of the good stuff and talk to other families. Unfortunately, none that were close to us.
We got to meet Abdissa. He is a kindhearted man. He remembered all of the little children that he helped to place. We also got to meet with the people who are working on our adoption with us. It was kind of nice to put a face with the name.
This is our caseworker and her husband. They were a lot of fun. I think that if they lived closer, we might be buds.
For some reason both of us expected more...of what... I'm not sure. But if we hadn't of gone, we would have wondered what we missed.
