Alright, Alright, Alright!

So...I didn't get my blood drawn on Friday. I got sick, and I wasn't faking either! I promise.

Saturday was our Groundhog Day Party--henceforth refereed to as GHDP. We got the idea from our good friends Stan and Robin Hall. Roger was in charge. Some of the activities included: competitive card tossing into a hat, Groundhog Haiku and Groundhog coloring contest. We had everyone bring treats to share. Roger made "roasted roots six ways," in honor of a root eating rodent, Groundhog Punch, and I made groundhog cookies--they were sugar cookies, not groundhog cookies...you get the idea. We took a few pictures, but you will need to wait for them....it's a long story. But I will give you a Haiku sample. The rules for a Haiku are 5 syllables, 7, then 5 again. Try to mach people up with their Haiku!

I did my best with my spacing, but every time I try to publish, it messes up. I hope you get the idea.

I LOVE the haiku! Wish I could have attended the Groundhog party. Sounds like a brilliant idea.

Hi Roger and Melissa,
Nice job on the Groundhog's Day party! I liked all of the ideas, and might borrow some. We drew pictures of groundhog's and put them over our framed pictures. One was of a groundhog snowboarding and another was of a groundhog family posing, two parents and two kids with a busy highway in the background. And we drew another big groundhog and covered our front door! We ate groundhog stew (beef really) and we played a couple of goofy games and watched the last twenty minutes of the movie. The Wesleys were there with some other couples from our ward and our sisters and their spouses. Altogether there were 22 people in our little Wymount apartment. We wish you could have been there, or that we could have been at your party!
Cya,

Stan Hall
